RSM PAYMENTS & POLICIES
By attending lessons, camps, or any programs at RSM, you agree to the policies as outlined below.
CANCELLATION POLICY
If you cancel your lesson at least 24 hours before the start time, you will receive a make-up credit (in our system and afterward in this agreement referred to as a "banked" credit,) and can reschedule the class within 90 days. After 90 days from the original class date, the banked credit will expire.
We do not refund or credit missed classes.
When a lesson is canceled with less than 24 hours notice (for any reason – including sickness and emergencies), you will still be responsible for paying for that missed class and will not receive a banked credit or a refund. When you book a recurring time slot with RSM, the teacher reserves that time for you. It's like signing up for a course in school – you pay for the course regardless of whether you come to class or not. We respect our teachers' time and commitment and pay them accordingly so that we can offer the highest quality services. We cannot be responsible or account for student emergencies. With less than 24 hours notice, we don’t have time to fill that slot with another student & the teacher is paid for this lost time.
If a teacher cancels a class for any reason, regardless of notice, you will receive a banked credit and have the option to reschedule the class with your teacher or with a substitute within 90 days.
In the case of sickness or other last minute cancellations, students have the option to request a virtual lesson (up to 2 hours before the lesson time) or request to have homework material sent over in lieu of their lesson. These options do not apply to no-shows.
You are able to cancel and reschedule any private lesson at least 24 hours ahead of time through the RSM app or app.teacherzone.com. Please contact us if you’re unable to login or access your account for any reason and we’ll assist you.
SICKNESS
If a student is sick or showing symptoms, please do not come to your lesson. If the student stayed home from school because they were sick, do not come to your lesson. If a student arrives at their lesson showing symptoms of illness, RSM Teachers reserve the right to send them home without a banked lesson credit to protect the health of themselves and other students. The same standard cancellation policy above applies to cancellations due to sickness. Please respect the health and safety of your teachers and students at RSM and do not send a sick child into RSM.
If students are frequently sent to RSM showing illness symptoms, teachers reserve the right to terminate lessons.
MAKE-UP/BANKED CREDITS
Students can use banked credits anytime within 90 days after the original lesson date. Students may use banked credits with their original teacher. If scheduling with the original teacher is not possible in 45 days after the original lesson date, students may request to use banked credits with a substitute teacher or to transfer the credit for a family member to use with any teacher. Students can also use banked credits for extra classes RSM hosts that accept banked credits instead of payment. After 90 days from the original class date, the banked credit will expire.
GROUP CLASSES
For students enrolled in a group program, there are no banked credits offered as the class continues weekly regardless of which students show up. Students can request to book a one off private lesson to catch up on any missed material in the group class, approval of which is subject to teacher availability, and may not always be possible. These are subject to regular one-off private lesson pricing.
PAYMENTS
RSM has no registration fee. We charge only for lessons/classes/workshops that students are signed up for. Your initial trial lesson will be charged to your payment method on file. When you begin ongoing lessons you can choose to continue using your payment on file for future payments or switch methods of payments. You must notify the office of any payment method updates so we can update your account accordingly. RSM charges a flat monthly rate, regardless of the number of weeks in each month and regardless of how many lessons the student has missed or cancelled. Refer to our cancellation policy above.
PAYMENT METHODS
Auto-Pay: All cards or ACH bank drafts on file will be charged on the 1st of each month for the upcoming month of lessons or programs. Any other payment schedule will be notified to you via email. You will receive an email receipt for your payment or an email to update your card should your payment decline. There is a 3% service fee for all credit card transactions. There is no processing fee for ACH payment methods.
Cash/Check/Card/Paypal/Venmo: You will receive an invoice on the 1st of each month (or the first business day after the 1st if it falls on a weekend) Payments can be made by cash or check to our office or payment dropbox on site or by Venmo. If a payment is not received by the 10th of the month, the backup payment method on file will be charged.
If the payment method on file is declined or invoice otherwise unpaid, the student is subject to be taken off the calendar.
All students are required to keep a credit card or ACH payment method on file & agree to be charged due to non payment.
CANCELING ONGOING LESSONS
If you'd like to cancel ongoing lessons, students are required to give two weeks notice and to finish out the month.
RSM cannot hold time slots once you've canceled your ongoing slot. Once that slot is open, it is available for other students to book, and we cannot guarantee a slot with that teacher later on. We have many excellent teachers, so we can typically find a slot that works for you with someone else in the future.
All parents, legal guardians, and students agree that they are contracted directly with RSM and not with the individual teacher. Parents, legal guardians and students are not permitted to solicit our music teachers for lessons outside of RSM. By doing so, parents, legal guardians, and students will be in violation of this agreement and in part will be breaching our teachers’ non-solicitation agreement with RSM.
