About Steve Bailey

Steve Bailey is the chair of the Berklee Bass Department and is renowned for his his pioneering work with the six string fretless bass. He has played with a huge range of artists, including Victor Wooten in Bass Extremes, Paquito D’Rivera, Dizzy Gillespie, The Rippingtons, David Benoit, Jethro Tull, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Willie Nelson, Ray Price, Billy Joe Shaver, Larry Carlton, Johnny Witherspoon, Toni Price, Mel Tormé, Ernestine Anderson, John Patitucci, Billy Sheehan, and many many more. He has released albums with many of these artists. Steve is more than just a bassist and educator, he has had a tremendous impact on many people's lives both musically and spiritually and goes above and beyond to help others.
