Lesson pricing is dependent on your lesson length and is not determined by the instrument or teacher. To hold your time slot with your teacher, pricing is based on a flat, monthly rate regardless of the number of weeks in the month. See our Private Lesson page for full pricing details
Lesson frequency
Most of our students take lessons on a weekly basis. Others who like to work on multiple instruments take two lessons per week, and a few with busy schedules book every other week (bi-weekly) or one-off lessons.
Bi-weekly lessons may be subject to more restricted booking such as the beginning or end of a teacher’s day, or in the off-week slot of another bi-weekly student.
One-Off (single time) lessons may be scheduled online (after you have registered as a student) or by contacting us via phone or email. These lessons do not hold a permanent spot on a teacher’s schedule and are subject to current availability.
We recommend weekly lessons because consistency is key!
For other programs outside of private lessons, visit What We Offer.
See our Policies for more info on payments, billing, and cancellations.

RSM does not use one specific teaching method or curriculum as every student has different goals and a different way of learning. We use a combination of method books and materials to cover theory, sight reading, ear training, and technique for a well-rounded approach to music.
Our teachers will tailor lessons to the needs and learning style of their student, and will sometimes ask students what songs or styles they are interested in learning. If you have any concerns about which teacher is best fit for you, reach out to our front desk and we can provide you a recommendation.
-
It’s recommend that you have an instrument either before the first lesson or by the second week of lessons. At-home practice is a crucial aspect of making progress, and this cannot be done without having access to an instrument away from the school.
If you need advice on what type to buy or where to go, ask your teacher or check out one of our instrument guides located under the TV in our downstairs lobby.

If it is less than 24 hours in advance, you must reach out to our office to cancel. Regardless of the reason, if a class is cancelled with less than 24 hour notice, you will not receive a makeup credit and no refund will be issued.
If you are sick or have another last minute schedule change, we can switch to a virtual lesson with at least 2 hour notice, or you can request your teacher send new learning material to account for the missed lesson time.

Please see our full policies for more info on cancellations and sickness.
Thank you for helping to respect our teachers’ time and keep your lesson spot reserved for you.

Holidays
RSM is closed on major holidays and students receive a banked lesson if their lesson falls on that holiday closure. For holidays where school districts remain open (such as Halloween, Valentine’s Day, etc.), we are also open & plan for students to attend.Bad weather
In the case of ice, snow, hail, or other inclement weather, the school will notify you via text and email if we are closing for the day. Students will typically be given an option to switch to virtual lessons or receive a banked lesson to be rescheduled later. If the school is open during bad weather and you are unable to drive over, we can switch your lesson to virtual or you can receive new material emailed over by the teacher. Our standard reschedule/cancellation policy applies if you need to miss a lesson on any day when RSM is open.
-
If a teacher cancels a lesson for any reason, regardless of notice, you will receive a banked credit to reschedule the class within 90 days. Typically a teacher will open additional time outside of their normal schedule for make-up lessons soon after their cancellation. You will be notified by our office in these cases, typically via text.

We understand that life gets busy and occasionally lessons must be paused. In order to cancel ongoing lessons, please email info@radhaschoolofmusic.com. We require two-weeks notice or to finish out the current month to cancel your regular time slot. If you are planning to leave at the end of the month, please let us know at least 5 days before billing occurs.
After cancelling lessons and monthly billing, your time slot is released to other students and cannot be promised with your teacher. When you are ready to return, we’ll work with you to find a new time slot based on current availability.
Banked lessons can be used even if you are no longer enrolled for weekly lessons. Just don’t forget to book before they expire!
