Have you been working on a song and want to play it with other people?

Want to play in a band but can’t commit to a full semester?

Collaborate with other musicians to make a cover or original song come to life and either perform it or record in our studio.

It’s clear that we see the most progress within ourselves when we have a project to work on, when we collaborate with others, and when there’s an end goal. RSM Music Collabs is all about working with other student musicians and getting creative to accomplish your ideas! This is such a great way to meet new people and have a lot of fun working together as a team.

How It Works

Pick a song or write a song that you’d like to play with a group / band. Fill out the form in the RSM lobby or at the bottom of this page and include what instruments / levels you’re looking for in people to play with. Other musicians will see your project openings in the RSM lobby and can sign up. Once a project is full, everyone works on the song/s separately until they’re ready for a rehearsal. You can either start a project / song or join an existing project that is created by another musician. 

#1 REHEARSE & PERFORM
- Perform for family and friends at RSM
- Save it for a recital or future performance opportunities outside of RSM

#2 REHEARSE, PERFORM, & RECORD
Everything listed in Option 1 - PLUS record your project at Indigo Studios (RSM) with multi tracked with both audio and video. You can invite family and friends to attend the recording session, keep the recording, and share it. It will be featured on our video series “Live at Indigo Studios.”

Who Can Join?

Anyone over the age of six, including adults, who have at least one year of experience with an instrument.

Anyone can create a project.
Fill out our “Create a Project” form either at bottom of this page or in the downstairs lobby and submit it for approval. We’ll invite other students to work with you and assemble a team! If you need help deciding on a project, talk with your teacher.

Join an existing project with teacher approval.
To join an existing project, check project openings on the wall in the downstairs lobby. Members must fit instrument, age, and level requirements. Ask your teacher if it’s the right fit before signing up.

Pricing

The only thing that students/musicians will need to pay for is a band teacher's time and the recording session (if the group decides to be a part of the video series). These charges will be split among the band members. The more people in a project, the cheaper it will be. A project must have at least one rehearsal with a band instructor before the recording session.

Rehearsals at RSM With Instructor*
$80 / hour total split among band members (approx. $15-25 / person)

Full Production Recording Session
This includes the full production multi-tracked audio / video and post production editing. $400 / song split among band members (approx. $50-130 / person)

Per song / project, the approximate total price per person could be anywhere from $65 - $150.
