Benny began his musical journey at the age of five, surrounded by a musical family. His father was a multi-instrumentalist who played piano, guitar, and sang in his church. Playing keys in the church band was the gateway to a lifelong passion for piano. When Benny joined Phoenix Jazz Band in high school, the allure of jazz not only captured his heart ,but it heavily influenced his musical direction. Benny took on much more than jazz as a genre; he also focuses on classical, funk, soul, r&b, and hip-hop. His favorite aspect of music is getting lost in the flow and finding his way back. When performing and playing alongside other musicians, Benny combines both composition and improvisation to resonate with a wide audience, and he passes this knowledge and diversity along to his students. Teaching, for Benny, is not merely a profession but a platform to share the transformative power of music.

β€œThe most rewarding aspect of teaching is helping students connect the dots and show them how music helps with all aspects of life.”
