A.M.P. - “Accelerated Music Program”

A.M.P. is a program for students at Radha School of Music who want a deeper and more well rounded music education. The program is designed to dive into topics such as music theory, ear training, technique, fundamentals, improvisation, composition, and more.

A.M.P. students are placed in groups with other students of a similar level following a curriculum created by teachers at Radha School of Music. This community aspect brings in the element of healthy competition and motivates students to put in the work.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

  • Monthly 2 hour Instrument Specific Group Class (different topics & goals each month and homework spread out within the month and an assessment at the end of the month)

  • Curriculum & Video Content (included within each month’s topics & goals)

  • Monthly 60 minute Ear Training / Theory / Sight Singing Group Class

  • AMP Solo / Duo Performances (once every 3-4 months performing each student’s bigger solo / duo pieces prepared within their private lessons)

  • Assessments (Monthly & End of Semester) - based on Ear Training & Monthly Group Classes

  • Bi-Monthly Community Hangouts - vinyl listening parties, music trivia, jam nights, movie nights, etc.

Must already be enrolled in Weekly Private Lessons & Involved in a Band / Group / Ensemble*

for students who aren’t currently involved in a band or ensemble, we can help create a unique project that will allow you to play with others based on your interests and goals. Playing with others is a huge part of being a musician and all AMP students must be doing this in some way.

A.M.P. vs Pre-A.M.P.

Pre-A.M.P. is a version of A.M.P. for beginner-intermediate students. A.M.P. is for intermediate-advanced students. Our A.M.P. directors will place each student in the correct program based on their placement assessment.
